Many children lost one or both parents in the Rana Plaza tragedy, leaving them badly in need of assistance. With the help of donations, Meena helps 50 children (38 of them orphans) by providing them with a monthly allowance for their upbringing. The children's guardians are recieving financial support for the child living expenses, schooling and medical costs.
This allowance enables the child to stay with their new guardians without the pressure of having to go out to work for income. The child can instead focus on their education. Continued education for the child is one of the parameters for the programme and is monitored including home visits.
