'Friday School' is an initiative for children on the Meena programme. The aim of the classes is to offer the children a safe, productive and fun place where they can come for extra tuition to complement their regular learning in the formal school system.
Every Friday afternoon the children come to the Meena house in Savar where they receive tuition from professional trainers. The kids are coached not only in school subjects such as maths and science, they also receive culture classes. They learn traditional Bangladeshi song and dance, along with traditional forms of art.
The classes are an invaluable exchange for the children and offer them the opportunity to also play and build friendships with other kids in an educational and supervised setting.
