The orphans, shocked by the lost of one or both parents (in some cases the surviving parent re-married and abandoned the child) need ‘experience of relaxation’ and enjoyment. These Recreation Days provide the children and their families a channel for their emotional, creative and educational needs by doing arts, games, sports and having interactive lessons.
The Children’s Day is a mixture of games and educational activities. The orphans are getting together with children of the same destiny. These activities encourage the children to regain activity and is helpful for their emotional and mental heath recovery.
Meena's first recreation day took place in June 2014, an event made possible by a private donation from citzens from Detroit, U.S.A. Successive days have taken place with the help of corporate donors.
